Addresses on a private road or within a private complex are not eligible for spring cleanup. Please call Sarah Derrigan at 970-384-6441 or Matt Langhorst at 970-384-6438 to obtain a free voucher for the landfill beginning April 15, 2019.

Where do I place my debris?
  • In front of or adjacent to your property.
  • Away from regular trash service.
  • On public property only.
  • Away from fences and buildings.
  • Avoid landscaped areas.
  • Avoid community piles.
  • Place debris two days before zone start date.
  • Place debris no later than 7 a.m. on zone start date.

What items will the City accept?

  • Sorted debris from city residents only.
  • One (1) full-sized pickup load of debris per residence.
  • Tree limbs cut shorter than six (6) feet in length.
  • Recyclable items including wood products, metals, and appliances separated from other debris.
  • Refrigerated appliances with “Freon Free” certificate attached.

  • No Hazardous Waste 
    The city will not accept hazardous materials, including: 
    • Paint, antifreeze, or gas
    • Tires
    • Waste oil
    • Televisions, computers, copiers, or any other electronics
    • Batteries
    • Air cylinders or gas tanks

    *** There will be a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on April 27, 2019. Please call,  945-5375 for additional information and to make an appointment for Hazardous Waste Collection Day on or after April 15.

How do I report a violation?

The success of this year’s Spring Cleanup service is up to you. Report violations of the program to Code Enforcement at the Glenwood Springs Police Department by calling (970) 384-6500. Please provide as much detail as possible including date, time, and description of the violation. When reporting illegal dumping by a non-city resident, please provide a full vehicle description and license plate number, if possible.

Notice: City crews will only make one trip on each street through each zone. Please have all debris ready by the start date. City crews will not pick up items on private property. The City is not responsible for damage caused by violations of Spring Cleanup guidelines. Violators may be subject to a fine or penalty.
