Blake and Palmer Neighborhood

Palmer and Blake Neighborhood

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, CO – The City of Glenwood Springs held a virtual neighborhood meeting from 5p.m. to 7p.m. on Oct. 28, 2020 to facilitate a discussion about potential street configurations of Blake Avenue and street improvements from 23rd to the intersection at Colo. Highway 82. A recording of the meeting is available here

At this meeting Engineering and Community Development staff introduced and presented different circulation options for consideration, and the city asked for comments from the Palmer and Blake area neighborhood.

Comments from the neighborhood residents will then be presented and discussed at the City’s next Transportation Commission meeting on November 3rd. The Transportation Commission will have the option of making a recommendation to the City Council for their consideration.

On July 23, 2020, the City Council voted to open Blake Gate in 2020 pending community outreach meetings and staff recommendations; to bring the decision back to Council as to whether it’s a one-way or two-way street. City Council later decided to delay the opening until the issuance of a certificate of occupancy or a temporary certificate of occupancy for any building that is part of the Triumph-Bell Rippy development.  This neighborhood meeting is in service to the conversation about the configuration, and will help staff make a recommendation to City Council.
